Caring for Your Paul Schneider Ceramics
Every Paul Schneider Ceramics piece is crafted by hand in our Dallas, TX studio. Slight variations in color, shape, and texture are part of the process. With a bit of thoughtful care, your piece will last for years to come.
Lamps
Unplug before cleaning:
Always unplug your lamp before cleaning to ensure safety and prevent electrical hazards.
Remove the lampshade:
Carefully remove the shade to access the full body for cleaning. We recommend dusting the shade separately with a lint-free cloth or soft brush.
Dust regularly:
Use a soft, dry cloth or feather duster to gently remove surface dust. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the finish.
Cleaning the base:
If needed, gently wipe the ceramic base with a slightly damp cloth. Take care to avoid moisture near the electrical components.
Lustre finishes:
For lamps with metallic or lustre glazes, avoid contact with any cleaning solutions. A dry microfiber cloth is best to maintain their sheen without compromising the finish.
Stools
Handle with care:
While our stools are made with durability in mind, ceramic is still a fragile material. Avoid dropping, tipping, or placing excessive weight on the piece, as this may cause cracks or breakage.
Clean gently:
Use a soft, damp cloth to clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners, rough brushes, or harsh chemicals, which can damage the glaze or finish.
Glazed surfaces:
The stool’s glazed finish provides some resistance to staining. For best results, wipe up any spills promptly to preserve its appearance and luster.
